Saachi loves to break out into a song, if she likes the one that is playing - on the radio, laptop, or the DVD player. She, of course, cannot speak any words - she just starts humming out her own tune. It's priceless. Must try to get a video of that.
She also loves to twirl. Play a catchy tune, and she'd twirl.
Sneha belts out a, "Naach bandariya naach re, paise mile paanch re", and there goes Saachi, twirling away with abandon !!
Then the lateral displacement (inevitable) with the twirl becomes kind of out of control, and she has to sit down, or plop down with a huge smile.

Saachi's first teeth
Finally, Saachi got her first teeth - at around 14th months !
Today, she has about 3 and a half teeth, and she smiles that rabbit-smile of hers, putting out the top two.
Man, we'd been waiting for it for so long.
Shalu was asking the doctor if she could possibly give her some vitamin supplements or some such stuff so that the first teeth would make an appearance. "Maybe some calcium, you know", she had said helpfully.
The doctor's point was, simply, "Have you ever met an adult who didn't sprout teeth?", and that was that. So Saachi did not really get teeth-vitamins or calcium. The doctor DID prescribe some iron-laced vitamins, though. Which made the Chemist raise an eyebrow or two. "That much?! Are you sure? Would you ring up your doctor and confirm?"
But that is a whole different story now, isn't it?
Not quite germane to the issue. It's germane, isn't it? Though what has it got to do with germans, i've never quite been able to make out.

Which one should i wear?
We bought two pairs of footwear for Saachi recently.
A nice pair of pink booties, and regular pair of sneakers.
She loves them, and has one or the other on throughout the day.
If she goes barefoot for a while, she soon realizes something is missing. She'd then bring a pair out to us, and have us help her put them on.
Now, she has a tough time deciding which one to wear.
If she is wearing the pink 'uns, she'd lug the other pair (sneakers) up
to Shalu, stand up holding Shalu's legs, and would ask her
in her mumblese, "ummm, ummm!", while looking at
Shalu, the sneakers, and the booties in turn.
For people with IQ comparable to mine: translation - i want the
sneakers on.
After some time, (which isn't all that long), she decides
that the sneakers are not doing her justice, and she'd now
drop the pink booties at shalu's feet, with the same, "ummm!".

Which one looks nicer?

Saachi Learns to walk
These days, she wants to walk.
Doesn't matter that she can't.
Doesn't stop her from walking.
Gritty girl!
She'll get hold of her walker, or
the cabinet, the sofa, a chair,
or Shalu's legs - and walk a-way she does.
Today, she walked a full round
around our apartment sidewalk
with the help of her walker.
