There are lots of names that Saachi gets called by ...many of them given by me, but one or two by others, too!
1) Beetle - Beetlox - Beetloi
2) Paroti - Parota - Parotwa (This is the oldest one - almost from the day she was born)
3) Kukua - Kukki - Koo-Paroti - Koo
4) Jhunjhunia - this one given by her NaniJi
She responds to "Pagali" call from her mom!
Recently, she has taken a fancy to the name, "Gadhaprasad", from the Serial "Chidiyaghar" on SAB TV - this is the name of the manservant, and Sneha used to try to tease Saachi using that name. But Saachi liked the name so much, it wasn't any fun for Sneha trying to tease her with it! :-)

An accident!
Last evening, Saachi was making sure she was busy and keeping everyone on their toes. While Shalu was having dinner. Finally, Shalu thought of a way of keeping Saachi busy.
She asked Saachi to go keep some shoes inside the shoe stand. Saachi ran off like she does, bobbit-bobbit. I mean, you can see her head bobbing up and down as she runs with small but hurried steps.
She picked up a couple of shoes, and bobbitted off to the shoe stand in the passage. Shalu, and i were in the drawing room. Sneha was in the bathroom. Within seconds, we heard Saachi's sudden, pained, and loud scream. Shalu and I ran to the passage, fearing the worst.
The scene that met our eyes was just plain horrible. The wooden shoe stand had toppled over Saachi, and she was stuck under it! And screaming in great pain and shock.
I was sure she had broken something, and was too overwhelmed by the site for a moment. All i could say was, "Arrey baap re" in a horrified tone. Shalu had pulled Saachi out by then, and was checking for signs of injuries.
There was a small scratch near her knees, but no external marks that could be readily seen. Shalu carried her to the drawing room, saying, "Sorry beta, sorry beta".
Fortunately, nothing seemed to be broken. She sat in Shalu's lap, scared, for several minutes, and then started walking around. Sighed with relief!

Not that Sari!!
Today was fancy dress at Saachi's playgroup, and Shalu had planned to send her as a teacher, draped in a Sari.
However, Saachi had made it clear that she would not wear a Sari.
So, Shalu had a strategy. She'd market Sneha's readymade sari as "Sneha's nice dress" and be able to make a Sale, because Saachi is always after Sneha's dresses. So today, when Saachi woke up, Shalu had the Sari neatly laid out as Sneha's dress, and dressed her up in it.
Immediately after this, Saachi happened to look at her dress in the mirror, and discovered that it was a Sari. She threw up a huge tantrum, and cried and screamed till she was out of the Sari!
She went dressed in a Hyderabadi lehenga, no character in particular.

What lies inside?! Dithao!
Late last year (Dec. 2009)
Saachi learnt the wonderful question, "Iste andar naa hai?" totla for "iske andar kyaa hai?, and she'd ask this question about almost anything that interested her. From toys to mobiles to her vegetables ! Sometimes, she uses Iske andar kya hai, followed by "dithao" totla for "dikhao", or show me!
So she not only wants to know what is inside, but you've to prove that it really is!

Goal !!
17-Jan-2010
We were just tossing a big yellow ball back and forth - me and Saachi. After a while, she starts kicking the ball back to me, and i'm kind of surprised at how straight she's able to propel the ball. After a couple of kicks, she started driving the ball towards the door behind me - quite accurately. And then, she cried, "GOAL" !! :-) Had no idea she even knew the word! Kids do amaze you, on a daily basis.
Shalu got after her, "where did you learn that?" But with a cryptic smile, she remained silent.

The All Singin', All Dancin' baby
Saachi loves to break out into a song, if she likes the one that is playing - on the radio, laptop, or the DVD player. She, of course, cannot speak any words - she just starts humming out her own tune. It's priceless. Must try to get a video of that.
She also loves to twirl. Play a catchy tune, and she'd twirl.
Sneha belts out a, "Naach bandariya naach re, paise mile paanch re", and there goes Saachi, twirling away with abandon !!
Then the lateral displacement (inevitable) with the twirl becomes kind of out of control, and she has to sit down, or plop down with a huge smile.
